The obsolescence of the political aspect of the teaching profession and the generative theme

The research aimed to identify how the Pedagogical Project of a school institution from Rio Grande do Sul assists teachers in the successful accomplishment of their plans, as well as how the generative theme is thought in their classroom activities. Therefore, by means of document analysis and semi-structured interviews, two instruments were analyzed: the school Pedagogical Project and the teachers’ answers to the interview questions. The theoretical framework was mainly based on Paulo Freire’s precepts. In conclusion, it is observed that there is a breakdown in the socio-anthropological understanding of the generative theme, which is a result of the obsolescence of the political aspect of the teaching activity.
