The interview with Carlos Alberto Torres aimed to explore the conditions and potential of Critical Global Citizenship Education in fostering peaceful and sustainable human coexistence while enhancing social and environmental justice. This initiative emerged from a collaboration between the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (Unisinos) and the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS), coordinators of the UNESCO Chair in Global Citizenship Education and Socio-Environmental Justice. The interview was part of Professor Torres' visit to Unisinos and UCS, conducted through a methodologically planned semi-structured interview. Ultimately, the discussion offered insights into the complexities of the three main themes anchoring the debate: education, citizenship, and global perspectives, recognizing the essential role of education in articulating the other concepts towards democracy and peace.
