This study was developed with 20 students of the Faculty of Education of the State University of Paraná in four meetings, in which the following were carried out: a discussion of the previous concept of the family, the reading of a scientific text, the deepening of reference on the World Wide Web, the projection of three commercial advertisements, which guided the development of a collective text using Google Drive, and the creation of a personal blog, in which the concept of family acquired after the intervention was made explicit. The proposal aimed at understanding how the cultural industry contributes to the formation of the family concept. Results were treated from the content analysis and vision of references under four biases: classic, prototypical, of copies and theoretical. We conclude that the concept of the family of future teachers points to a classical view, based on defining characteristics. It is necessary to discuss the concept of families in contemporary times, therefore, it must be understood historically and analyzed in its specificity in teacher training processes.
