Comparative research in education in Latin America: Situations and perspectives

This article problematizes some issues related to the current situation of comparative studies and challenges in education research: comparison as a process of knowledge, the relation between comparative studies and development models and the use of comparison as a form of political regulation and governance in education. Finally, the article offers some elements for the construction of a critical perspective on comparative research through a socio-historical approach.
