Blog: Technology for a meaningful learning of English as a Foreign Language

This work studies the construction of a class blog in the classroom as a strategy for learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at the high school level. It describes the tool that was used and the model adopted for the creation of the blog, where knowledge is constructed for the development of the communicative competence in the foreign language and the students’ personal and social skills. The results are shown considering the blog as a technological resource that can be used for the development of the four skills in learning a foreign language: reading, listening, writing and speaking. There is also an understanding that skills such as autonomy, active participation, refl ection, responsibility and collaboration are evidences to be taken into account in the evaluation of the process.
