Female teacher training and the role of education in Anísio Teixeira
Abstract
This article discusses a few ideas of the educator Anísio Teixeira about the process of the teachers’ organization and professionalization in Brazil during the first decades of the 20th century. It also analyzes how the teacher’s work was organized by the state during the 19th century and its subsequent “feminization”, through which women entered the labour market.
