Contexts of the social educator’s formation in Brazil

Abstract

The education is a process that happens in several spaces of the society. One of these spaces, that is in wide expansion, is the social education. Therefore, it becomes necessary a reflection on this subject. In this paper some notes are elaborated about the contexts of the social educator’s formation in Brazil. In order to do that, we analyze the performance of the social educator in two different educational spaces: in the Centros Municipais de Educação Infantil (CMEIs) and the Instituições de Contra-Turno Social. The understanding of these facts is necessary for the social educator’s pedagogic praxis: the dialogue, the reflection and the permanent study process and formation allied to the political commitment with the childhood and adolescence.
