The imperative of inclusion brought the school closer to clinical knowledge, based on the inclusion of students who attended Special Education institutions or classes in regular education. Questioning the effects of this knowledge on the modes of schooling in contemporary times is the objective of this text. For this, it relies on the field of Foucauldian Studies, from which it picks up the concept of normalization, for the analytical exercises on a bibliographical and documental materiality. The results point to an emphasis on clinical referrals in the search for medical diagnoses for defining the Special Education public and for enrollment in Specialized Educational Assistance. They also indicate the preponderance of the performance of specialists for the individualized service of this public, to the detriment of the collective processes common to the school. Such practices make the school a constant surveillance device due to the risk of deviating from the institutional norm.
