The study analyzed the production made available on the Capes Journal Portal about teaching work during the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil. A qualitative, state-of-the-art research was conducted, the results of which were analyzed according to the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin. 16 products were selected, of which two thematic categories emerged precariousness of teacher work and emergency remote education. It was found that the precariousness of teaching work is enhanced by the pandemic; most teachers are not trained for emergency remote education; many students suffer digital exclusion, further increasing social inequalities and that challenge for teachers. It was concluded that the repercussions of the pandemic on teaching work are related to the mitigation of labor rights and the physical and emotional exhaustion of teachers to meet new job demands.
