“On feminism, racism, xenophobia and everything else”: Narrative imbalances in heterosexual performances of a white migrant student
Abstract
This paper analyses the interactional positionings negotiated by a migrant student in the context of a situated narrative interview. This investigation takes into account the performative nature of language and the performative theorization of narratives. The interactional positionings are analysed by considering indexical cues present in the narratives. The study shows the unbalanced narrative performances of the student, which occur due to his migration experience.
Keywords: narratives, performance, interactional positioning.
