Journalistic cartoon and poem: interfaces between communication and art

Abstract

The aim of this article is to search the sign process in a cartoon, looking for the poetic essence procedures that may take part in its language. The cartoon is shown as a language system, according to Charles Sanders Pirece Theory, which is connected to the poetic function, based on Roman Jackobson studies; by ideogram method of composing, based on Fenollosa; metaphor conflict that is characterized on Eisenstein concepts, in order to try to prove the course of secondness to firstness, or index to icone, that turns to the formation of poetic.
