About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Verso e Reverso is a peer-reviewed journal that provides a dedicated forum for articles from the growing community of academic researchers and critical practitioners with an interest in communication.
The journal is interdisciplinary and publishes both theoretical and empirical work and contributes to the social, economic, political, cultural and practical understanding of communication.
Articles are submitted to a selection process that meets strict quality criteria and is done by ad hoc reviewers. This process maintains the anonymity of the reviewers as well as the authors. Articles must be original and can be written in Portuguese, English or Spanish.
Until 2003 was printed (ISSN: 0103-1414) changing to digital form since Vol. 17, No 37: Ano XVII - 2003/2 (ISSN: 1806-6925).
The editorial guidelines follow those of the Web of Science for scientific journals. Thus, Verso e Reverso upholds the following standards:
a) The adequacy to the journal topic and to publication norms;
b) Recommendation based on peer evaluation;
c) Scientific discoveries and methodological or conceptual developments are given priority;
d) Impact on the scientific field of communication;
e) Articles in English are given priority.
Peer Review Process
The publication of the article is subjected to the previous approval of the journal's Editorial Board, as well as to peer review made by, at least, two ad hoc reviewers using the double blind review process.
The final acceptance of the article depends on:
- The recommendation of the reviewers;
- That the authors carry out the necessary corrections;
- And final approval by the Editorial Board, which decision will recommend one of the following options:
- Accept submission;
- Revisions required;
- Resubmit for review;
- Resubmit elsewhere;
- Decline submission;
- See comments.
Open Access Policy
Verso e Reverso is an Open Access journal, which means its full content is freely online accessible without time delay or cost to the reader.
