Late romanticism: love and the culture industry
DOI:

We discuss in the article if the romantic love, according to its historical definition, may be reduced to a culture industry mechanism or a social strategy of cultural distinction, as Eva Illouz and Pierre Bourdieu, respectively, have argued. For us, those features, notwithstanding its presence inside the phenomenon, do not exhaust it and, because of that, we are always examining it as a media culture fact. We also have to considerer the moments in which it reveals itself as an autonomous social world making process.Downloads
