In France, the employment of journalist is open to every one if the job is recognized by the National agreement and permit to get the professional identity card. However, the press and TV employers organizations and the journalists trade unions are not yet agreed about a recommended Code of ethics that can be applied to every journalist in the National agreement of the profession. The more and more competition in the economical environment, the rapid expansion of the information and communication technologies in favour of new media practices and the amateurs blogs expansion too, have modified the appeal to the professionals of information in a context of the recurrent crisis of confidence of the majority of French people about medias. However this job context hard to please in view of this evolution, but also in view of the editing policies of the shareholders, the number of journalists is increasing and became the highest oh the history (+ 37 000), and the part of the women is increasing (+ 43%). But the crisis of confidence has to questioned more and more the professionals about their social functions in a democracy and invite them to debate not only with the actors of politics but also with these of the civil society. To strengthened the cohesion of their profession.
