This paper proposes a reflection about the use of mobile social media for the development of collaborative systems in news production. The focus is the investment of news outlets in strategic appropriation of applications (apps) for social networks to search for information collected in mobility by amateurs. This is on the assumption that the practices involving partnerships between professionals and amateurs, set to Pro-Am by Anderson (2006), may be assuming functions and specific dynamic in multiplatform distribution chain of certain news media, based on the potential and limitations of appropriate tools for them.
Keywords: collaborative journalism in mobile media, digital journalism, Pro-Am.
