Actions of the municipal public schools in the west mesoregion of Santa Catarina for the quality of basic education

This paper refers to a dimension of the project “Indicators of quality of primary education in West meso-region of Santa Catarina: strategies and actions in municipal public schools (2010-2014)”. It presents the actions for the improvement of the processes of teaching and learning related to seven of the eighteen municipalities surveyed. Based on the qualitative approach, we analyzed the responses of interviews that had as participants the school managers and Portuguese and Math educators/teachers whose students were participants of Prova Brasil in 2009. It was noticed that, safeguarding the characteristics of each municipality, the result of IDEB generates actions toward improving educational quality.
