Abstract

The objective of this article is to create a setting that would be appropriate for a dialogue between Elias, Piaget and Bergson supported by the discussion of time and the different temporalities that make up human beings. Elias introduces a sociological approach that invites us to think time as an instrument of the civilizing mechanism. In Piaget we have a psychogenetic approach, which helps us think not only about the mental structures that are necessary for the construction of the notion of time, but about their potential implications in child development. Bergson, with a philosophical reading, introduces the notion of time as duration and the possibility of approaching the temporal experience of a human being in its entirety. The dialogue between these three authors points to a possibility of interaction that starts with the variable of time and converges to a conception of plain education.
