Abstract

This essay aims at discussing the concepts of subjectivity and formation under the Adornian perspective, which, besides establishing a relation of correspondence between these two concepts, understands that its realization is compromised by the cultural industry which, in other places, promotes heteronomy, the identification and the conciliation between reality and concept. These aspects fi nd support in new technologies as they contribute to accentuate the formalism and to promote substitutive experiences. Based on this assumption, we intend to also refl ect on the impact of the new technologies on subjectivity and on the formation, and on some ways of resisting to the damage of both of them. This is a theoretical research, substantiated in the literature written by Theodor W. Adorno and by his followers’ ideas. From these references, the possibilities of resistance to reifi cation of the subject and the formation can be found in the arts and in the aesthetic experience, as they compile reason and sensibility, content and form, and allow the non-identity and displacement experience.

Key words: Adorno, subjectivity, formation, aesthetics.
