Abstract

The objective is to reflect on the medical discourse on disease and health in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). It is assumed that AI has become a way of solving social problems from its insertion in the biological organism to the creation of external organs. Given this, what is that which is not thought, as Foucault would say in The Birth of the Clinic, about health, healing, illness, life and death from the medical discourse on illness and health in the conditions of AI? The theoretical-methodological perspective recovers pragmatism because the medical discourse on disease and health, as well as AI, are considered not only as an object or a set of data and information, but as medical practices and cybernetic processes closely intertwined with the forms of life and the actual production. AI, seen from pragmatism, allows us to recognize it as a foundational matrix of new modes of existence and veridiction.
