This paper aims to investigate how Point IV, a Project developed between the years 1950 to 1960, established a possible transfer of models and educational formation in the Brazilian rural environment. Methodologically, the research analyzes the publications of the National Rural Education Campaign - RCNER, focus on the actions and discussions on “Point IV”, notably those published in the years 1955 to 1959, in addition to scientific articles, website pages, among others. It is concluded that, on the pages of RCNER, Point IV were portrayed as a project that had the purpose of "solving" illiteracy that was raging in rural areas, with the purpose of "modernizing" agricultural practices. However, behind these intentions what was sought was to influence and modify the ways of life of Brazilian rural people, in short, to make possible the influence of American models of rural education in Brazil, with an alleged promise of “salvation” full of interests not declared.
