Abstract

This paper aims to describe an experience of education/training in the training of adult educators in the Master’s Course of Education at the University of Minho. Framed by the objectives of one of the curricular units of the course, we made a research experience that helped to understand when, where, with whom and how adults are educated and trained. In this study we chose a qualitative approach, without neglecting quantifi able data. We used life stories as the method and the semi-structured interview as the data collection technique. The participants were nineteen individuals. The results have effectively led us to corroborate the guidelines of this new epistemology: education/training is a permanent process, with a community nature that is realized through the relationships, events, experiences and contexts that occur in the lives of each one of us.

Keywords: training of adult educators, adult education, life stories.
