The Human Condition. The Other. The Self.Abstract
In this bibliographical work, we defend the main thesis that the other is the primordial human condition. Starting from this assumption, our objective in this paper is to analyze how the question of the other appears as a human condition in the philosophy of three contemporary thinkers: Mikhail Bakhtin, Hannah Arendt, and Tzvetan Todorov, and to justify our hypothesis. In addition to the Introduction, where we situate the thought of each reference author of this work, in the section entitled The other as a human condition, we highlight how the other, as a human condition, appears in the thought of Mikhail Bakhtin, Hannah Arendt, and Tzvetan Todorov and how they relate to each other. In the section The place of recognition, we situate the question of the recognition of the other in the theory of each of the three authors, as well as defend each of their theses. Finally, in the Conclusion, we explore the possibilities and approximations between their main concepts, with the question of the other as a horizon of understanding.
