Abstract

ABSTRACT: Kant published Anthropology from a pragmatic point of view in 1798. The book was based on lectures he had given at the university since 1772. Kant divides anthropology into physiological and pragmatic. However, he has his anthropology as pragmatic taking into account the human being as someone free to know a way to generate something that allows to clarify how he should do himself. In this perspective, Anthropology from a pragmatic point of view has two parts: 1) anthropological didactic part: the way of knowing both the interior and exterior of the human being, subdivided into sections on cognition, aesthetics and ethics; 2) the anthropological characteristic: the way of knowing the interior of man from the outside, is divided into the character of the person, the physiognomy, the character of sex, the character of the people, the character of the race, the character of the species and lines fundamental aspects of the description of the character of the human species. Thus, Anthropology from a pragmatic point of view has a global character and seeks to know human nature as a whole through the concept of citizen of the world.
