André Chervel and studies on language teaching
Abstract
André Chervel is a reference in Brazilian history of education studies since the 90s, however he is less known among researchers of language teaching; the text aims to briefly present his research career and the recognition he obtained in France in order to situate the article translation reading “From school disciplines to school culture: the case of spelling teaching at elementary school” where Chervel questions the cultural impact of what is produced in and for the school.
