Research pathway in Human Sciences with a bakhtinian theoreticalmethodological support

Abstract

This article aims at discussing the choice of qualitative research of an interpretive nature in Human Sciences, with a Bakhtinian theoretical-methodological support, based on the exposition and refl ection on a doctoral research pathway. Thus, the fi rst point on which we will refl ect refers to the specifi c object of investigation: the enunciations that make up discourse – in the case of that research, more specifi cally, the teacher’s response-discourse. Afterwards, considering that the researcher is a key element in this research perspective and that otherness is a central concept in Bakhtin’s theory, we also present considerations about the role of the researcher and his/her relationship with other research participants. Finally, we explore some aspects of the research pathway that concerns the theoretical and methodological choices for the generation and analysis of data, pointing out the regularities that emerged in the analysis as a result of this research process. Refl ecting on this singular trajectory of research is relevant because it points to a possibility of research on discursive practices, whose methodological perspective of qualitative nature is constituted from the theoretical approach of reference.
