This article is focused on academic literacy theme, aiming to reflect about the writing approaches which underlie the Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) and the Teaching Plans of the subjects in the Portuguese Language area of the Languages Course at Unioeste – Cascavel/PR Campus, establishing relationships with the writing approaches listed by Lea and Street (2014). The reflections are based on a master thesis research (Capelin, 2022) developed from a documental analysis focused on the PPP and the Teaching Plans of the aforementioned Course. The results demonstrate that, in general, the three approaches with writing focus – study abilities, academic socialization and academic literacy (Lea; Street, 2014) - underlie, although implicitly, the PPP and the Course Teaching Plans of Languages of the investigated institution, however, the one that predominates in most Teaching Plans is the approach focused on study abilities (Lea; Street, 2014).
