Abstract

In this work it is observed and analyzed the ways in which the expectations have been institutionalized and operationalized in functionally differentiated systems of the modern society. We note that in modern peripheral – unlike the central societies – are used modes of operation that obeys other kind of differentiation by blocking, corrupting and annulling the formal codes (legal/not legal: law, government/opposition: politics and which responds more to a logic of a segmented or stratified order than the operations of a system that is functional and operative differentiated.

Key words: Institutionalization, cognitive and normative expectations, peripheral society, political system.
