Espectros da ficção científica. A herança sobrenatural do gótico no cyberpunk
Abstract
The article aims at analyzing science fiction, more specifically, cyberpunk, as an heir of the Gothic romanticism. Through a historical periodization of its sub-genres, from the classic period up to the 80s´ cyberpunk, some features of the Gothic fiction have remained in the literature, in the cinema and in the current culture itself. The subjectivity, the individual facing social and technological changes, the fear and the horror, pictured by ghosts and/or machines, the human body, as an experiment, exposed to violence have been part of each sci-fi period and reappear as contemporary issues for the technological society imagery.Issue
