Audiovisual e interesse público
Abstract
Media users and academic personalities express expectations on TV shows, based on what has been referred to as public interest. These expectations have influenced the communication policies in the EU, and also national policies, as in Portugal. One main area is the regulation systems, which are being subject of restructuration in all countries. Civil society claims that broadcasters take upon themselves public responsibility, in the face of the attack to its values, mainly ethical ones, by the commercial TV. This is the appeal of the Declaration of Civil Society in the World Summit of Information Society.Issue
