Journalism and new technology: an uneasy alliance

Abstract

This article examines the role of technology in the development and functionof journalism. Providing an historical context, the focus of the discussionis on the nature and impact of digital technologies on how journalists dotheir work, how they tell stories, how news organizations can be managed,and how relationships between and among news organizations and their manypublics are changing in the age of the internet and other new, digital andnetworked media.
