Abstract

Starting from an example episode, this article analyzes aspects of the journalistic production in times of cyberculture and technological hybridisms of the so called traditional media in the third millennium. Distant from technophobia, but contrary to the reduction of communication to technical performance, this work intends to join in the tentatives of rescuing Journalism as an essential activity of social production of contemporary knowledge. It thus understands that this activity requires specialized professionals, normative framework, qualified observation, rigorous investigation and humanistic preoccupations. With this approach, it puts in a critical position the emphasis that is being given to speed, quantity, self-sufficiency of technical apparatus, spetacle and pseudo-interactivity. Besides the critics, it includes suggestions to the journalistic production on the multimedia tide.
