NSDAP-Ortsgruppe Porto Alegre, celebrations of the first of May (1933-1937), participants
Abstract
This article aims to describe a few aspects of the celebrations of the 1st of May between 1933 and 1937 in Porto Alegre/RS organized by the German Consulate in Porto Alegre and the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei-Ortsgruppe Porto Alegre. It focuses on elements related to the presence and participation of members of the NSDAP and other persons in those celebrations with the purpose of contributing to the study of the organization and the activities of the NSDAP in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. For this purpose, article uses as its basis texts published particularly in the press in German language in Rio Grande do Sul, according to the notion of “trace paradigm” as proposed by Carlo Ginzburg (1989).
