The Brahma Brewing Co. and German investments in Brazil during the two World Wars
Abstract
This article explores the political situation of Brahma Brewing Co. in the two World Wars of 20th century. It examines the backstage of the diplomatic conflict during the wars as well as the way the Brazilian government treated companies of enemy countries in 1917 and in 1942. It compares the policy of the Brazilian State towards business related to foreign interests in Brazil in both conflicts, and offers suggestions of new lines of investigation on the subject.
