Sociability, art and culture. An experience in interwar Argentina
Abstract
As of 1910 the dominant sectors of the city of Rosario considered that it was fundamental to consolidate their spheres of interest. Thus, they developed various strategies designed to strengthen the citizens’ cultural, intellectual and educative profile by articulating public and private space. Privileging their idea and image of culture and civility in the 20s, 30s and 40s, they organized various forms of action. This work analyzes some examples of linking of associative expressions with state institutions and their impact on society.
Key words: sociability, culture, public space, Argentina.
