Historical demography, family and the Inquisition: Methodological possibilities on the basis of the Family License
Abstract
Inquisitors and historians can talk, even respecting the chronological distance and the diff erent objectives of their work. Th e possibility of using a source from
the Inquisition for the study of family history is the main goal of this article. In this sense, it discusses the potentials and limits of the Holy Offi ce’s Family License for the reconstitution of the family.
