History, sociology and the analysis of power
Abstract
This text discusses the relationship between History and Sociology in contemporary sociological literature, especially in Michel Foucault and Pierre Bourdieu. It argues that the concept of power as understood by both French authors demands, methodologically speaking, the collaboration between the sociological approach and historical analysis.
