The hidden worlds. Regional studies in the teaching of History in Argentina
Abstract
The article discusses the impact that the dominant historiography has had on the preparation of curricular contents for the teaching of History in Argentina. It particularly analyzes how the “national” perspective is constructed starting with the texts books that disseminate the image of a homogeneous Argentine history. It also pays special attention to the role that Regional Studies can play in order to break with this distorted image by pointing out the hierarchical structuring of the knowledge produced by this line of study.
