The identification of vestiges of changes and contact between groups considered culturally distinct and belonging to different archaeological traditions has as a background the discussion of Contact Archeology. There may have been an important flow of information between these groups and relationships that are yet to be clarified in different ways. Here they are addressed through spatial studies, based on secondary information through large-scale mapping, compiling and processing data gathered to observe the spatial distribution of technological complexes Umbu, Itararé and Tupi-Guarani in the border area between Paraná and São Paulo. The maps were produced from data collected in bibliographic research carried out in a public archive of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN) or collected in theses or dissertations that produced data on the area itself. The conclusion is that through this information we can observe three types of behavior according to the type of interaction between the groups. In the first case, the situations are agglomerations, in the second, the groups are in continuous contact and in the third, they are in isolation.
