Abstract

This paper advocates that, to the deep changes experienced in higher education in Brazil in recent years (which have been threatened), and the policies intended for both teacher education and the inclusion of historically marginalized groups among them, should correspond significant modifications in professors’ pedagogical practices. From the description and analysis of some of their professional experiences, the authors, who are professors in the area of Theory and Methodology of History and Historiography, discuss the importance of systematic and deep reflection on the pedagogical practices developed in higher education, particularly regarding a posture of the hearing and elaboration of the students’ narratives, as well as the incorporation of the latter into the class “content”. The given examples are especially related to the theme of “experiences of time”, which is fundamental to the education of History professionals.
