Transition to socialism and democratic transition: Brazilian exiles in Chile
Abstract
The paper results from a research on one German intellectual who have been working in Latin America and tree Brazilian intellectuals who have been expelled from the University of Brasilia, they have been persecuted from the Brazilian dictatorship and exiled in Chile and Mexico. In 1969, they got together in Chile and had academic experience, research activities and political activism in the country governed by Unidad Popular. The memories of this period were registered in academic memorials, written for the re-entry in Brazilian Universities, after the amnesty, or letters and auto-biographies. Those documents and the academic production about Chile are the sources of this article.
