This article proposes to present a methodology design that can be applied to research from the field of Communication. For this, it is necessary to present the Theory of Argumentation (Perelman and Olbrechts-Tyteca, 2005; Breton, 1999, 2012), which is the conceptual contribution that guides the theoretical-methodological path, as well as the application context that is the analysis of Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment in magazines Veja and CartaCapital. These two movements, together, culminate in the analysis of argumentative strategies in the discourses about politics of these two Brazilian weekly magazines.
