Possible contributions of ethnography to the study and the practice of the journalism in times of crisis

Abstract

This article has the objective of evaluating the contributions that the study of ethnography can offer to the current journalism. With this aim, it will be presented definitions to the concept of ethnography, and also differences and similarities of this practice in relation to journalism. Then, there will be an exposition of examples of the use of ethnography in journalistic texts. At the end, the article discusses the concept of ethnographic journalism and its relevance to the profession and the study of journalism.
