Abstract

Dois irmãos, the literary work of the Amazonian writer Milton Hatoum, is the story of Yaqub and Omar, twin brothers who, from an early age and by the circumstances of their creation, come to hate each other. After almost fifteen years, the awardwinning literary work wins the graphic novel version through the comic artists Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá, also twin brothers. This study therefore deals with the analysis of the narrative structure of the transcoded literary work for comics, through the method of comparative analysis proposed by Tzvetan Todorov and Roland Barthes. This is a qualitative research of exploratory design that used content analysis, comparing two objects of study: the novel and its version for comics.

Keywords: narrative, graphic novel, transcodification.
