The rise of a digitalized society aroused greater public participation in news production and enables new voices exercising Journalism outside of traditional media organizations, such as vehicles dedicated to lending visibility to local and community contexts. This paper aims to investigate whether the discursive strategies of Voz das Comunidades about the region of Complexo do Alemão support a more open dialogue with audiences, through a comparative analysis of their speech with the practiced by G1, an online vehicle owned by Organizações Globo, about the everyday experience in this district of Rio de Janeiro. Thus, this article purposes to contribute to the understanding of mediations and dynamic tensions between innovation and conservation in contemporary journalistic practices.
