This article aims to study the ideas of an “industrialist” thought in the New Latin American Cinema (NCL in Spanish) from the analysis of texts and interviews published in specialized film magazines from 1969 to 1980. Within in NCL, the turning of the decades 1960/70 is marked by the quarrel between the “film industry” and the “clandestine cinema”. We can summarize this quarrel as divergent positions on the question of the national film industry. We affirm that part of the “clandestine cinema” is strongly emphasized in the historiography on the NCL reproducing receipt at the time. Therefore, we postulate the need of further studies and analysis that part from the “film industry” within the NCL. The film magazines used in the research are Cine Cubano (Cuba), Hablemos de cine (Peru) and Cine al día (Venezuela).
Keywords: film industry, New Latin American Cinema, magazines cinema.
