This paper analyzes the discursive formations of images and texts produced by the “Tudo 2” fanpage on Facebook, a communication channel maintained by disciples and supporters of a Brazilian criminal organization called Comando Vermelho (CV). Based on the assumptions of both Grounded Theory (GT) and Discourse Analysis (DA), we seek to identify to which extent the fanpage discourses, by dictating behavioral norms of conduct, are influenced by moral and ethical codes established by CV. The analysis of the texts and images produced and disseminated by the fanpage allowed us to understand that the components explored in manuals of organizational behavior are re-appropriated in the current discourses, supporting new interpretations and interests in the context of visibility of social network sites.
Keywords: organized crime, social network sites, Comando Vermelho, Discourse Analysis.
