Body, performance and materiality: For a non-hermeneutical view in studies on sports

Abstract

From the work of Gumbrecht, but not only from it, we want to show the approaches that can be made between the theory of materialities and studies about sport. In other words, we intend to investigate sports adopting the possibilities given by the materiality of communication as a theoretical repertoire. In this sense, we briefly review the theoretical paradigm shift that is taking place in the field of Social Sciences and we point out, in the conclusion, research paths from the ideas discussed throughout this work.
