The distinctions between the conceptualizations of Jacques Rancière and Jürgen Habermas concerning the notions of “agreement”and “disagreement” in communicative interactions are the guidelines of this article. Its aim is to provide a better understanding of the articulations among communication, aesthetics and politics considering the way Habermas and Rancière present the situation of interlocution in three specific dimensions: (a) the configuration of the political interlocution (comprehending scene, actors and matters of subject); (b) the understanding concerning how the notion of “equality” must assure political exchange; and (c) the conception of politics that comprises poetics and experience.
Key words: aesthetics, politics, dissensus, communication.
