This article aims at comparing topical organization in speaking and writing through a text production activity with journalism students, which involved both “interview” and “profile” genres. In this investigation, we will seek to describe and analyze some types of dialogism used by these students when shifting from one mode of language use to another. We will try to observe how these genres are used when converted into school genres and the implications of the combination of writing and orality in processes of writing development.
Key words: interview, profile, genres.
