Apontamentos intersemióticos sobre a Folha da Manhã
Abstract
This text presents the results of research that has been carried out using the archives of the newspaper Folha da Manhã, which circulated in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, during the 1970s. These archives are available at the Hypolito da Costa Museum of Social Communications. The principal goal of the investigation was the evaluation of an important journalistic experiment in the regional press, and to find some basis, through the tracing and analysis of material published in this newspaper, for reflection on contemporary journalistic practice. It is to be noted that this periodical had an intersemiotic operating policy of bearing good news in an environment that was defined by liberty and significant socio-cultural transformations. The periodical introduced productive dialogues with the various mediatic codes and behaviors of its time.
